Just days before the much-anticipated BRICS summit in South Africa’s richest square mile, Sandton, BRICS health groups are meeting for the final time to discuss the findings of the international seminars held throughout the year under the banner BRICS and Africa, African solutions to Africa’s health challenges.

The Numolux group hosts the event.

Even in an era of advanced medical interventions, African countries continue to lag in health infrastructure, combating infectious diseases, and addressing mental health issues.

The BRICS Health sector has called for collaboration in building hospitals, clinics, medical equipment in Africa, and research centres to increase healthcare access for underserved African communities and address the scarcity of medical skills in Africa. The BRICS countries will provide healthcare workers with training and capacity building.

Above all, the BRICS countries’ expansion of health infrastructure and integration of traditional medicine would considerably improve the availability of medicine and pharmaceutical products.

After all, India and China, two of the BRICS economic giants, have already integrated traditional medicine into health care and have stated willingness to share knowledge and research in this field
