The much-anticipated heavy weight bout between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk is back on again.

It was supposed to have taken place in Riyadh on the 17th of February 2024 and is back on the cards on the 18th of May in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Eyebrows were raised in some quarters when the fight was postponed after Fury suffered a cut in sparring.

The gaping gash above Fury’s right eye has also blown a $200m (£158m) hole in the richest prize fight in boxing history.

The Gypsy King endured the ‘freak cut’ during a sparring session just two weeks before the bout was scheduled to take place in February.

Usyk’s camp had been left with the impression it would be ‘several months’ before the Brit was ready to reschedule.

However, a new date has been quickly put into the diary, much to the delight of boxing fans around the world who have waited long for this fight.

The winner of the fight between Fury and Usyk will become the first undisputed heavyweight champion since 1999, when Lennox Lewis defeated Evander Holyfield in Paradise, Nevada, with Lewis winning by unanimous decision.

However, Fury does appear to be in outstanding shape as the showdown rapidly approaches – which bodes well as he looks to become the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.

Meanwhile, fighter Deontay Wilder’s trainer Malik Scott has given his prediction ahead of the bout between Fury and Usyk.

“In terms of winner, I would go with Usyk but at the same time, Fury is big and knows how to use his size. Fury is in better shape than I thought he would be. He’s not slow, he has good punching power and a good boxing mind. It’s a good fight on paper. But we’ll see what happens.”

‼️ Tyson Fury rips into Oleksandr Usyk after a jibe from his promoter Alex Krassyuk: "You f***ing p***y, you're getting knocked spark out."
