The largest indoor ice and snow park in the world has officially opened its doors in Harbin, northeast China. With advanced technology, it creates an unforgettable experience for visitors. During the opening ceremony, A Guiness World Record official awarded the Harbin Ice and Snow Company the certification for the “world’s largest indoor ice and snow park”.

The park, with its cutting-edge technology, has temperatures as low as -10°C (14°F). Crafted over nearly a month by 10,000 artisans, the park displays intricate ice and snow sculptures across nine themed sections. Global Times announced that visitors can engage with 13 interactive projects that include state-of-the-art lighting, sound and interactive technologies.

The newly opened Harbin Ice and Snow World Park’s immersive atmosphere is enhanced by the lifelike ice sculptures illuminated with vibrant lighting. Debuted on July 6, it covers 23,800 metres and has already attracted over 3,000 visitors. The ice, totalling 20,000 cubic metres, was sourced from Songhua River. Inside, guests can indulge in a magical atmosphere filled with ice, gourmet food, entertainment and light displays.

The vibrant ice sculptures of fruits, ice cream and cakes crafted using edible dyes, are particularly striking adding to an environmentally friendly colouring process. Visitors of northeast China are invited to experience the wintery temperatures throughout the year. Harbin, known as the Ice City, is in Heilongjiang province, the northernmost metropolis of China.

Throughout the year, the city experiences heavy snowfall, long, cold winters and short, cool summers. The Harbin Ice and Snow festival started in 1999 and has since been held annually from December to early March. This new attraction aims to extend the city’s tourist season and position it as a year-round destination. Harbin’s beautiful ice and snow theme park is a testament to human creativity and resilience highlighting how nature’s elements can be harnessed for entertainment.

The breathtaking views are the epitome of innovation, craftmanship and artistry, attracting visitors from all over the world. Harbin continues to evolve into a year-round destination and remains an exquisite real-life example of combining nature’s beauty with entertainment and adventurous experiences through the year.
