Riyadh: Saudi Arabia’s crown prince, His Royal Highness(HRH) Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, (MBS), has emphasised an urgent need for collective efforts, at an international level, to stop the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza.

MBS, also the nation’s Prime Minister, was addressing leaders from the BRICS bloc during an extraordinary summit convened on Tuesday by BRICS chair, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa.

The Saudi Press Agency reports that HRH spoke out against the crimes committed against innocent civilians in the Gaza Strip, the destruction of infrastructure, and the worsening humanitarian crisis.

A collective effort to stop the humanitarian catastrophe

The Crown Prince stressed the necessity of international collaborative efforts to stop the ongoing military operations in Gaza, which have resulted in the loss of innocent lives, particularly children, women, and the elderly.

MBS has called for decisive solutions to address the humanitarian catastrophe and demanded an immediate halt to military operations.

Humanitarian aid and relief efforts

Saudi Arabia has been actively working to provide humanitarian relief to the people of Gaza. MBS highlighted the Kingdom’s relentless efforts, including providing aid by air and sea and launching an ongoing fundraising campaign which has already raised a significant amount of money.

International condemnation of Israeli aggression

MBS reiterated his country’s firm and unaltered stance against Israeli aggression. During the Extraordinary Joint Arab and Islamic summit held in Riyadh this week, Arab leaders were united in denouncing Israeli aggression., He has since called for the immediate delivery of humanitarian aid and rejected the forcible displacement of the Palestinian people.

MBS throws his weight behind calls for a Two-state Solution

The Crown Prince also backed several international calls for a two-state solution. This involves enabling the Palestinian people to establish an independent and sovereign Palestinian state within the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Appreciation for international efforts

MBS also expressed appreciation for the efforts of the permanent members of the UN Security Council and commended the role and efforts of BRICS to assist the Palestinian people.
