With a number of countries focusing on tourism to drive their economies, the Discover Russia brand is providing new options for those looking to travel.
The Ministry of Economic Development says the campaign is already being tested on the foreign market.
A few Brics+ countries including China, India, the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Iran are amongst the states where tourism is being promoted.
There are plans to also promote the brand in other Gulf and Southeast Asian countries.
The ministry says Russia is planning to double the number of tourists visiting the county over the next six years to 16 million.
Tourism sites such as the Kremlin and Red Square are a favourite of visitors.
Red Square, which dates back to the 14th century, is home to Saint Basil’s Cathedral, the State Historical Museum, and the Lenin Mausoleum.
The Kremlin and Red Square have been under UNESCO protection since 1991.

Other attractions include the Trans Siberian Railway.
It’s the perfect way to see some of the country’s most beautiful places all at once.
Spanning over 9,289 kilometres, the Trans Siberian Railway is the longest railroad in the world.
Tourism officials say some of the big cities also have a lot to offer.
The city of Sochi – home to the 2014 Winter Olympics, is located along the Black Sea and has tea plantations, waterfalls and the nearby Caucasus Mountains.And then St Petersburg is one of the largest cities in Russia.
Attractions include the Winter Palace, which is home to the Hermitage Museum.
Officials say tourists should try something new – and discover Russia.
