Saudi Arabia will be participating for the first time in the Miss Universe 2024 competition. Rumy Alqahtani, a 27-year-old model, is the first ever participant that will represent the Islamic country.

Rumy Alqahtani hails from Saudi Arabia, Riyadh, well known for its participation in beauty pageants. She recently participated in Miss and Mrs Global in Malaysia in the last few weeks.
Currently crowned Miss Saudi Arabia, Rumy is the title holder of Miss Middle East, Miss Woman and Miss Arab World Peace 2021.
Saudi Arabia is undergoing a transformation. The country has sustained strict social and religious regulation but has recently loosened its restrictions. This shift has been internationally recognised specifically with the lifting on women constraints including allowing them to drive and attend mixed-gender events.
