Saudi Women are breaking boundaries in the world of sports.

It was Dania Akeel, who became the first Saudi Arabian woman to receive a motorcycle racing license, and the first to compete in an international rally, the Dakar Rally.

She finished tenth in that competition, the longest cross country endurance rally in the world.

Other achievements include winning the 2021 T3 Desert Baja Rally World Cup, and last year, she became the first Saudi woman to join Red Bull’s elite group of International Champions.

More Saudi women are following in her footsteps, and one of those women is Hattan Al Saif.

She’s become the first woman from the kingdom to sign a multi-fight contract with a global MMA promoter, as confirmed by The Professional Fighters League.

Looking at some of her achievements, it’s no surprise that she’s been signed up.

The 22-year-old won a gold medal at the 2023 International Federation of Muay Thai Associations World Championships.

In addition, she received the “Breakthrough Female Athlete” accolade at that event.

Alsaif also took first place at the World Combat Games and at the Saudi Games.

Alsaif says receiving a PFL contract is a dream come true.

She said, “As the first Saudi woman signed to a global MMA contract I do not take the responsibility lightly, and I am committed to representing my country.

I hope to pave the way for aspiring female fighters. I am thankful to God and the PFL for this incredible opportunity,”.

In April, Hattan will make her amateur debut in PFL Mena, the promotion’s new regional league made possible in part by an agreement announced last August with SRJ Sports Investments, an entity owned by the Public Investment Fund.
