BRICS leaders have extended their condolences to the people of Russia and denounced yesterday’s terror attack.

These include Chinese leader Xi Jinping, India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and South African President Cyril Ramaphosa.

60 people have been killed and 145 injured after three gunmen stormed Moscow’s Crocus Hall.

The men, dressed in camouflage, reportedly used automatic weapons in the attack.  They also threw a grenade or incendiary bomb into the venue setting it on fire, before fleeing in a white Renault.

ISIS has claimed responsibility.  It released a statement through ISIS-affiliated news agency Amaq on Telegram.  However, the terror group has not provided proof of the claim.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has thanked doctors and says he is thinking of those injured in the attack, according to a Russian official.

The United Nations has also released a statement saying “The secretary-general conveys his deep condolences to the bereaved families and the people and the government of the Russian Federation. He wishes those injured a speedy recovery,” and has called the attack “heinous and cowardly.”
