Tourism South Africa says 8.5 million international tourists visited the country last year, that’s a staggering 49 % percent increase from the previous year.

New favorable visa policies and arrivals from BRICS countries have boosted the tourism industry.

“The recovery can be attributed to consistent efforts to showcase South Africa, as a welcoming, responsible tourism destination”.

South Africa’s Tourism Minister, Patricia de Lille said.

Our Correspondent Inga Mzileni spoke to the minister, here is the interview.
