The global water crisis, a challenge of unparalleled proportions, has prompted the convergence of experts worldwide.

Keynote speaker Heather Collins, representing the Metropolitan Water District, emphasised the need for resilience in water systems.

“Our goal is to ensure the development of a resilient system capable of adapting to drought or abundance. This necessitates a multi-pronged approach with multiple options to ensure connectivity, allowing water to flow where it is needed,” said Collins.

In California, a state no stranger to oil spills, water supply is just one piece of a complex puzzle.

Some exhibitors have arrived to unveil groundbreaking technology aimed at addressing pollution clean-up efforts.

“Our rover technology can collect algae, dead fish, trash, and oil. It can capture up to 150 pounds of debris per deployment, operating autonomously or remotely controlled,” said Michael Arens, Co-founder and CEO of Clean Earth Rovers.

Another critical aspect centres on conservation and sustainability. Companies like Copper Labs, a forward-looking startup, offer data-driven solutions to track water usage and losses for utilities and consumers.

“Our real-time information provides a detailed overview of consumption habits and can even identify unexpected water wastage. Mid-cycle billing alerts help consumers manage their water usage and bills more effectively,” said Corey Posten, Director of Sales, Copper Labs.

As water scarcity looms as a growing challenge worldwide, the Future Water World Congress stands as a beacon of hope.

It offers innovative alternatives to preserve and safeguard this most fundamental resource.
