Iran has recorded a 41% voter turnout in its parliamentary elections, marking the lowest participation since the 1979 Islamic revolution.
The interior ministry says around 25 million out of the more than 61 million eligible Iranians cast their votes in the elections held on March the first.
This is slightly lower than the 2020 parliamentary elections, recorded at 42.5%. And this was a staggering 20% drop from the 2016 elections.
