New Delhi in India hosted the 18th meeting of the G20 gathering this year.
Leaders from the world’s most powerful economies converged at the Bharat Mandapam International Exhibition-Convention Centre.
While the focus was mainly on the summit outcomes, there was plenty of colour on the sidelines. Leaders were invited to pay homage to Mahatma Gandhi as their summit ended Sunday.
Modi also gifted each leader with a hand-spun scarf made of “khadi.”
The khadi scarves symbolise Indian independence from British rule.

India’s President Droupadi Murmu hosted a gala dinner for world leaders. The dinner also showcased India’s musical journey, marking the conclusion of various agreements and the declaration.
World leaders were treated to a three-course vegetarian meal with different kinds of millet, signifying the “autumn season of abundance”.
Pearl millet and sorghum are essential crops in Asian and African diets and are favoured because of their short growing seasons.
Millet-based cuisine also featured in meals at the White House when they hosted Modi earlier this year.

Also, on a state visit to India, the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammad bin Salman (MBS), received a ceremonial welcome on Monday at the Rashtrapati Bhavan by President Droupadi Murmu and PM Modi.
According to the Hindustan Times, MBS last visited India in 2019, when both nations forged and created the Strategic Partnership Council.
