Widespread reports that European countries close to the Russian border want to prepare for a possible war with the BRICS country, has seemingly enraged most Britons.
Many citizens took to social media saying they didn’t want a war with Russia.
British Army Gen Sir Patrick Sanders is reportedly among high-ranking officials issuing a national call to prepare for a major conflict on European soil.
According to a report by BBC, The UK’s defence secretary has also warned that they need to be prepared for a war.
In his first major speech on defence, Grant Shapps said the country was moving from a “post-war to a pre-war world”.
But it would appear that politicians and governments are far removed from the public and their daily lived experience if the reactions on short video app TikTok are anything to go by.

News of possible conscription into the British army seemed like a good opportunity for a video prank. But this reaction echoes concerns for many British citizens of colour.
“Fight for the country? F**k the country, get my passport and the cat, we are getting out here,” was the response from @sairaayan’s partner.
“Why should I protect the country? They don’t even like me here. Have you seen the colour of my skin, I will be dead before I get there”.

On a lighter note, TikTok’s regular users rightly predicted that the younger generation who don’t take anything seriously will probably start the war version of ‘Get Ready With Me’ (GRWM).
