Brightspark Foundation SA serves as a guiding light to some of South Africa’s most vulnerable youth. It provides a lifeline to communities and individuals that without the tireless work that this foundation does could simply not survive.

The Foundation has a School4Life home that looks after at risk youth, an APC Academy AfterCare programme that supports and mentors children on a daily basis and an “ Adopt a Family SA” initiative that supplies food parcels to struggling families.

These initiatives are the brainchild of former gang member-turned philanthropist, Welcome Witbooi. Their aim is to not only help some of South Africa’s most underprivileged communities, but also provide a chance for a better future. Many of the country’s youth battle daily with poverty, violence and hopelessness.

The Foundation spends over USD 2000 a month on all its various community based projects. The money is fundraised through donations as the organization does not receive government funding.
