As a relative newcomer to the media industry, BGTN has experienced significant growth and success under the steermanship of Bester.

Zimbabwean-born Bester has more than 15 years’ experience in the media industry with expertise that traverses business and financial analysis, management and leadership. He has worked in 53 African countries and lived in 19 of them. Prior to joining BGTN, Bester worked in East Africa on behalf of the United Nations. As an expert in security and government relations, he is a contributing member to PROSAK (Protective and Safety Association of Kenya), Security Directors Forum, and East Africa Security Forum.
Bester was the CEO of RT Africa, where he oversaw the expansion and transformation of the network into a multi-language, multi-platform, and multi-format media outlet. The Global CEO Excellence Awards honour the world’s most distinguished CEOs.
