In the township of Katlehong, east of Johannesburg, South Africa, a young girl named Sinoyolo wakes up each day to the stark realities of poverty. Despite three decades of democracy, her walk to school is not just a quest for education but also for the meal provided by the school’s feeding scheme.
Sometimes it’s the only food she has all day. Sinoyolo is a promising student with big dreams. She imagines a future where no child has to endure the same challenges she has, the biggest of which is hunger. We step into her shoes as she narrates a day in her life.
