السعودية (Al-Su’udiyya)

السعودية (Al-Su’udiyya) is the original name of Saudi Arabia in Arabic. The name refers to the ruling Al Saud family, which unified the country in the 1930s. Saudi Arabia is famous for being the birthplace of Islam and home to the two holiest cities in Islam, Mecca and Medina. The kingdom is also known for its vast deserts, oil wealth and strategic importance in the Middle East.
