16-year-old Freddy Kotza lives in Vilanculos, Mozambique, with his parents who own and run the ocean excursion, Blue Paradise tours. He usually tags along with his dad, Stephen, on boat trips around the archipelago, a group of six islands with abundant reef and game fish, sea turtles and various endangered marine life.
From a young age, Freddy developed a deep passion for the outdoors, sharing his father’s love for fishing and surfing. Recently, his interests turned to creating and sharing short YouTube videos of his fishing expeditions, bike rides, island explorations and other adventures.
This energetic teen has already developed a keen eye for underwater filming. He delights in taking tourists’ cameras far and deep into the ocean to capture the perfect shot – just the kind people like to show off on their social media accounts.
While recently in Vilanculos, the BGTN team met Freddy and identified him as a budding photographer. BGTN gifted him with his own GoPro to capture his underwater adventures. Stay tuned as we follow Freddy’s budding career. We can’t wait to share with you THE ADVENTURES OF FREDDY on our various media platforms.
BGTN is passionate about enabling young people to nurture their skills and make their dreams come true. Just goes to show that talent is waiting to be found in the unlikeliest of places if you keep your eyes peeled and your hearts open.
