Mthwakazi Republic Party (MRP) is a political organisation that wants its tribal land redistribution from the Zimbabwean government.

MRP states that Mashona and Matebele land was colonised in 1890 and 1893 during a fierce battle.

Beneath this land, there is a wealth of minerals.

At least 6000 of King Lobengula’s warriors perished, and the imperialists came with people from Mashona land, who were called 652 batsmen, who invaded Matebele land.

They fought from the same corner as the imperialists; in 1923, in a whites-only referendum, they decided to come up with their referendum, which did not include any black people already living in that area.

The first motion was to have the Matebele land. They annexed Matebele land and Mashona Land together.

However, Matebele land’s people benefit nothing from the rich resources.

As a party, Mthwakazi wants to be free from Zimbabwe so their land can provide for their people.

They say they are not a tribal party as they host about 13 dialects: Basotho, AmaXhosa, Nguni, Bavenda, and Tsonga.
