Government Leaders and Speakers

High-level participation will shape this year’s discussions. Confirmed attendees include President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of Nigeria and President Abdelmadjid Tebboune of Algeria, alongside energy ministers from across Africa. International representation will feature senior officials from the Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and the African Petroleum Producers’ Organisation (APPO). With a focus on aligning energy access goals with climate and sustainability priorities, the speaker lineup brings together political leaders, institutional representatives, and private sector executives.

Workshops and Knowledge Exchange

Ahead of the main plenary sessions, AEW 2025 will host a series of strategy-driven workshops designed to deliver practical insights for delegates. Topics include upstream permitting, natural gas commercialisation, refining and downstream development, local content frameworks and regulatory stability. These sessions aim to equip participants with the tools to strengthen policy, improve financing strategies, and accelerate project delivery.

Awards and Recognition

The Invest in African Energies Awards Gala Dinner will take place on 30 September, recognising excellence across the African energy industry. Categories include ESG leadership, service provider of the year, local content champion and innovation in energy. The awards celebrate individuals, companies, and initiatives that set benchmarks for sustainable and inclusive growth.

Sponsors and Partners

A wide network of sponsors and partners underscores the event’s importance. Leading energy companies such as Exxon, Chevron, TotalEnergies, BP, ENI, Oando and Afreximbank are confirmed supporters. Alongside them are governments, logistics firms, financial institutions, legal service providers, and organisations focused on youth and women in energy. This broad sponsorship base reflects AEW’s position as a hub for collaboration, investment, and opportunity.

Why African Energy Week Matters

AEW has evolved into more than a conference, it is a platform for deal-making and investment mobilisation. Delegates can expect announcements of new financing packages, project agreements, and policy reforms. With Africa facing the dual challenge of expanding energy access while meeting global sustainability targets, AEW 2025 offers a rare space for governments, investors and communities to find common ground. The event highlights Africa’s energy transition journey, addressing how fossil fuels, gas and renewables can coexist to power economic growth while advancing climate commitments.

Conclusion

African Energy Week 2025 is set to be a defining moment for the continent’s energy sector. By bringing together global and local stakeholders under one roof, the event will not only shape conversations but also deliver tangible outcomes for Africa’s energy future.
