Banyana Banyana’s team coach Desiree Ellis, says the squad will be professional and disciplined this evening, to ensure they win the second leg of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games qualifier against Tanzania in Mbombela, Mpumalanga Province, South Africa.

Banyana Banyana, the African champions, crushed Tanzania 3-0 at the Azam Complex Stadium in Mbagala,Tanzania on Friday ahead of the final stage tonight.

Ellis said “The job isn’t yet finished. We are not going to become complacent.

People will say the tie is already decided but the next goal in the match could change things…we have to score the next goal.”

However, the coach believes the team has eased the pressure on themselves by achieving a good result away from home.

“We’ve seen them play away from home and get a result against a team like Botswana, who are no pushovers, especially on their home ground, so we have to be at our best and take nothing for granted”, Desiree Ellis stressed.

Whilst a win tonight is not a fait accompli, South Africans can’t be blamed for looking beyond the match, considering the team’s performance and form.

If Banyana Banyana’s latest game results are anything to go by, then they should start preparing for one of the biggest clashes against their arch rivals Nigeria on their quest to qualify for the Paris Olympics 2024.
