Shooter Nichole Taljaard, clinched Player of the Match with 15 goals and 18 attempts. She managed to land the equalising shot as the buzzer sounded.
Tenacious defence from Phumza Maweni and Karla Pretorius made it almost impossible for The Silver Ferns to score in the final minutes of the match.
Fans packed out the Cape Town International Convention Centre to cheer on the home team as it battled to even the score after a shaky start.
And since it’s Women’s Month, Banyana Banayana pressed pause on their own World Cup ambitions to post a special message of support for the Netball Team.
