An Arab medal in football for the first time in history is now guaranteed after both Morocco and Egypt qualified for the semi-finals.

Morocco began with a resounding 4-0 victory over the United States, with Sofiane Rahimi continuing his impressive form.

Egypt managed to come back from a goal down, thanks to Ibrahim Adel’s late equalizer against Paraguay, and then win the penalty shootout 5-4, thanks to the brilliance of goalkeeper Hamza Alaa.

Morocco’s U23 team entered the tournament with high hopes and delivered on those expectations. They began their campaign with a commanding performance in the group stages, demonstrating their attacking flair and defensive solidity. The Atlas Lions finished at the top of their group, having secured vital victories against tough opponents.

Their success in the group stage was built on a foundation of disciplined play and strategic brilliance. Morocco’s coach, Issame Charaï, employed a fluid 4-3-3 formation that allowed his team to control possession and dictate the tempo of matches. This approach enabled key players like Ayoub Amraoui and Mehdi Moubarik to shine, contributing crucial goals and assists.

In the quarter-finals, Morocco faced a formidable challenge against a strong South American side. The match was a thrilling encounter with both teams creating numerous chances. However, Morocco’s resilience shone through as they secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory, thanks to goals from Yassine Taha and Abdelhamid Maâli. This win propelled them into the semi-finals, marking a significant achievement for Moroccan football.

Egypt’s U23 team has also made headlines with their exceptional performances throughout the tournament. The Pharaohs, known for their rich footballing history, have continued to build on their legacy with a new generation of talented players. Under the guidance of the Brazilian coach, Rogerio Micale, Egypt’s U23 team has displayed a perfect blend of experience and youthful exuberance.

Their journey to the semi-finals began with a series of impressive performances in the group stage. Egypt showcased their defensive prowess by maintaining a solid backline while capitalizing on scoring opportunities. Striker Ibrahim Adel emerged as a key figure, consistently finding the back of the net and leading the team’s attacking efforts.
