tTHE SA T20 Tuurnament is often referred to as a mini IPL, and it seems on track to become just that.
The SA T20 League is an incredible opportunity to showcase South African talent.
“The real highlight for us is the number of youngsters now going to be involved in the SA T20. For these youngsters to get their foot in the door on this type of platform is an incredible opportunity for them”, says league commissioner, Graeme Smith.

England all-rounder Sam Curran emerged as the most expensive player in the history of the tournament after being picked up by Punjab Kings for an eye-watering 185 million Indian rupees ($2.26 million) following a fierce bidding war with the Chennai Super Kings.
20 year old Matthew Boast and Dayyaan Galiem fetched bids of R1.6 million at the SAT20 Season 2 auction in Johannesburg, South Africa last week.
Both all-rounders were involved in bidding wars after their base price was set at R175 000. Pretoria Capitals eventually won the race to sign Boast, who entered the auction as a Rookie.
A total of 33 matches will be played between 6 teams. Durban’s Super Giants (Kingsmead), Joburg Super Kings (Wanderers), MI Cape Town (Newlands), Paarl Royals (Boland Park), Pretoria Capitals (Centurion) and Sunrisers Eastern Cape (St George’s Park).
The SAT20 will take place between January 10 -February 11 2024.
