Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) was declared the most influential Arab leader for 2023.

The online poll conducted by the Arabic service of Russia Today (RT), held from December 15, 2023, to January 7, saw MBS securing a resounding victory with 69.3% of the total votes, amounting to 366,403 votes out of 530,399.

This marks the third consecutive year that Crown Prince Mbs has claimed the top position in the annual poll, showcasing his sustained influence in the region.

The second spot went to UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, who garnered 95,033 votes, making up 17.9 % of the overall votes.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas secured the third position with 20,645 votes, constituting 3.9 % of the participants’ votes.

In the previous year’s poll, MBS also triumphed with over 7 million votes out of nearly 12 million votes.

However, this year’s poll saw a decline in the votes. RT attributed to “restrictions imposed by the West” on the channel and its social media accounts, likely due to the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war.

This recognition further solidifies MBS’s prominent role in shaping regional dynamics and underscores the ongoing influence of Saudi Arabia on the Arab political landscape.

At just 38 years old, MBS is among the most exciting and innovative leaders globally.

The prince’s meteoric rise to power was the first show of his political tenacity. He wasn’t in line to inherit the throne but wouldn’t let a minor issue like succession stand in his way.

His aggressive and modern approach to governance is straightforward.

MBS has used the destabilisation of Western powers as a springboard for Saudi Arabia to become the next global superpower.

His leadership philosophy has blended Saudi Arabian traditions with architectural, economic and technological development, transforming his country into a formidable political force.

With a fresh approach to governance and his country’s trillion-dollar fortune at his disposal, excitement following Saudi Arabia’s induction as a BRICS member is at an all-time high.
