Taizhou, Jiangsu Province – An unusual boulder, affectionately named the “immortal rock,” has become a local sensation outside the home of Chinese Olympic gold medallist Huang Yuting. Located in Taizhou, Jiangsu Province, the rock has gained significant attention following Huang’s recent triumphs at the Paris Olympics.
Huang, who secured a gold medal in the mixed team 10-meter air rifle event and a silver in the women’s individual event, has seen a surge in visitors flocking to her home to touch the rock, which is believed to bring good luck. The boulder first attracted notice in 2016 when it rolled down a slope and landed at Huang’s doorstep during a storm, miraculously causing no damage. Since then, it has been symbolically linked to fortune, particularly after Huang’s success at the Hangzhou Asian Games the previous year.
Social media is abuzz with videos of tourists posing with the rock, celebrating Huang’s achievements and the positive economic impact her success has brought to her village. The rock’s newfound fame has turned it into a local landmark, drawing curiosity from far and wide.
However, while many visitors attribute Huang’s success to the rock, others are quick to point out that her achievements are the result of her relentless dedication and hard work in the sport, rather than any supernatural influence of the boulder.
