In a significant move to bolster technological innovation, Brazilian authorities will present the Brazilian Plan for the Development of Artificial Intelligence Technologies (PBIA) during the 5th National Conference on Science, Technology, and Innovation. This strategy, formulated by the Brazilian National Council for Scientific and Technological Development, aims to enhance the country’s capabilities in artificial intelligence (AI).
The plan’s development commenced following President Lula da Silva’s call in March 2024 for proposals to establish a comprehensive AI strategy. Over the past four months, a dedicated working group consisting of federal agencies, technology organizations, and both public and private institutions has collaborated to draft the document.
