Diwali, also known as the Festival of Lights, is a significant Hindu festival celebrated globally with immense joy and fervour.
The five-day celebration symbolises the victory of light over darkness and good over evil.
The festival typically falls between October and November, depending on the lunar calendar. Homes and public spaces are adorned with vibrant decorations, including diyas (oil lamps), rangoli (colorful patterns on the ground), and vibrant lights, creating a mesmerising spectacle.
Families come together to share festive meals, exchange gifts, and participate in prayers and rituals. The lighting of lamps signifies the dispelling of ignorance and the welcoming of knowledge.
Fireworks illuminate the night sky, adding to the festive atmosphere. Diwali is a religious celebration and a time for reflection, renewal, and strengthening bonds with family and friends.
It transcends cultural boundaries, promoting unity and the triumph of positivity in diverse communities worldwide.
