Luanda, Angola, September 2025, The Angola Oil & Gas (AOG) Conference and Exhibition 2025 took place on 3–4 September in Luanda, marking one of Africa’s most influential energy gatherings this year. Organised by Energy Capital & Power, the event coincided with Angola’s 50th anniversary of independence and brought together policymakers, investors, service providers and operators. Under the banner of driving investment and expanding opportunities across the oil and gas value chain, AOG 2025 provided a platform for deal-signing, industry collaboration and forward-looking discussions.

High-level participation defined the two-day program. Senior officials from Angola’s Ministry of Mineral Resources, Petroleum and Gas (MIREMPET) and the national concessionaire ANPG outlined priorities for exploration, production stability and gas monetisation.   • Azule Energy, the bp-ENI joint venture, confirmed a US$5 billion investment plan over the next five years, underscoring Angola’s position as its largest operating hub in Africa.
  • Chevron signed a preliminary agreement with ANPG for deep-water exploration in Block 33/24, reinforcing long-term confidence in Angola’s offshore basins.
  • Etu Energias, Angola’s largest private energy company, announced targets to reach 80,000 barrels per day by 2030 and expand its role in upstream production.
  • Corcel and Sintana Energy solidified their partnership in the Kwanza Basin, acquiring an indirect stake in Block KON 16 to advance new seismic programs.
  • Progress updates were also delivered for the Cabinda refinery project, with first production of 30,000 barrels per day expected by year-end.

Complementing the plenary sessions, AOG 2025 hosted workshops and roundtables that provided in-depth analysis and training opportunities for delegates. Topics ranged from optimizing local content and fiscal frameworks to strategies for gas commercialization, downstream expansion and attracting capital for frontier onshore basins. These sessions underscored Angola’s intent to not only attract foreign investment but also build domestic capacity and expertise.
